Pond House – Update
One Housing Group, who have purchased the site last December, have said that work should start on Pond House in July. Their contractor has now taken possession of the site and is currently carrying out the pre-commencement planning conditions – hence the new signs up on the hoardings.
Pond House has a listed building consent for refurbishment and a full planning consent in place. Consent was granted by LB Hackney for – “Refurbishment and conversion of Pond House and Stables to create 5 x self-contained flats, and demolition of garages on Mildenhall Road frontage, with construction of 6 x self-contained dwellings, together with associated landscaping, cycle storage, and refuse facilities.”
In other words the main building of Pond House will be refurbished into four flats, and the attached stable refurbished into a family home. These properties are Grade II listed. The disused garages on Mildenhall Road are to be demolished and a row of six townhouses to be built. The garden at the rear of the property will be landscaped into a communal garden for the use of all the flats and houses.
One Housing Group say that they will be redeveloping the site in line with the consents found at the following links on LB Hackney’s planning website.
